COVID relief grant program for micro-businesses extended, expanded

A Coral Gables-based bank and local nonprofit have renewed their micro-grant program supporting micro-businesses.

Amerant Bank recently announced it’d be continuing the initiative it began with Branches, a community empowerment org, amid the pandemic last year. The partnership’s micro-grant program sought to provide funds to mom-and-pop operations who were hit hard by last year’s unprecedented upheaval but may not have qualified for financial assistance or PPP loans. Now, the two are extending the program beyond just COVID-19 to continue offering long-term support for independent Miami area businesses looking to maintain — or expand — their operations.

More information on how to apply can be found via the official Branches website right here, and a video detailing how Bon Gout BBQ benefited from the micro-business program can be found here.
